The smooth running of the St. Panteleimon Hellenic College (StPHC) in order to create a good working environment
2. To inform parents how the StPHC operates and to bring to their notice their responsibilities and liabilities towards the StPHC at which their children attend and to make the children aware of their duties towards the College.
Compliance with these regulations will help to create a more orderly and conducive environment.
Observance of the StPHC regulations is obligatory amongst all pupils of all ages
REGISTRATION:
Enrolment (registration) for students wishing to attend StPHC in any year will be available throughout the school year.
Students who have reached the age of 6 by the end of September of the year of enrolment will enrol in year 1.
Students who have reached the age of 5 by the end of September of the year of enrolment will be enrolled in the Preschool (Προ-Δημοτική)
SCHOOL HOURS:
The School operates each Friday evening between 18.00 and 21.00 and each Saturday between 14.00 and 17.00.
Parents should pick up their children from the Room at the entrance.
ABSENCE:
Students are not allowed to be absent from School or miss classes unless there is good reason to do so.
An email requesting permission for these absences must be sent in advance to the School or teacher.
BEHAVIOUR:
(I) GENERAL:
Students are not allowed to touch, deface or otherwise interfere with pictures, books, maps or equipment belonging to ‘St. Panteleimon Nursery’ whether in or outside the classrooms.
Students are forbidden to bring with them to school any item which may be regarded as dangerous or likely to cause damage or injury other persons or to the classrooms or the equipment within the classrooms.
Children are forbidden to bring radios, mobile phones, mp3 players, iPod etc. to school. They are allowed to bring a mobile phone with them in case they need to contact their parents in case of need. However, the use of mobile phones is not allowed in the classroom or during the break. All money and personal belongings must be kept on the owner’s person. Personal stereos, ipods, electronic games etc., should not brought into school. The school accepts no responsibility for their loss or damage.
(ii) IN THE CLASSROOM:

Students must wait at the Hall until they are invited to enter. Students must behave themselves in the classroom and carry out the instructions of their teacher. Students must attend lessons with all necessary equipment (books, pen, pencil, notebook etc.)
Students will ensure that the classrooms are left tidy and clean after every lesson.
Eating should be confined to break time. Litter must be put into the bins provided, both inside and outside the building to ensure a clean hygienic environment.
Any accident or damage to equipment or furniture should be reported immediately. Students are expected to listen to the teacher, work positively and constructively whether alone or in groups, to achieve a worthwhile work output in class and to produce homework to their best ability. They are also expected to behave courteously to all members of the school and wider community.
Students are expected to attend each celebration (comcert) and learn the poems and songs.
SCHOOL BREAK:
The school break will take place between 3:20 pm and 3:40 pm on Saturdays, and between 7:20 pm and 7:35 pm on Fridays.
Students should not leave the room during the break.
Bullying of any kind is unacceptable. Fighting amongst students, the bullying of students by other students and the use of bad language will not be tolerated at our school.
Parents of children involved in such conduct will be informed by the Headteacher who may at his discretion expel such students.
Students will move in a quiet and orderly fashion in the corridors or on the stairs.
Running inside the school building or on the stairs will not be allowed.
SMOKING:
Smoking amongst students is absolutely forbidden and teachers and parents not allowed to smoke inside the school buildings or within the school grounds.
HOMEWORK:
Students will be given homework each day in accordance with their age. Homework is obligatory and not voluntary.
In the event that a student is absent from school he or she is expected to complete the homework has been set.
Where students have failed to produce any homework systematically the teacher will notify the Headmaster who in turn will contact the parents direct.
PROGRESS:
Parent Days will be held each term and advance notification will be given to parents.
Parents are expected to attend these Parent Days at which they will be informed by the teacher of the progress their child has made during that term.
Progress reports will be given at the end of each term and a report card will be prepared for each pupil at the end of the Summer Term.
The Headteacher will be available during school hours to discuss any matter of concern to any parent.
FEES:
(1) Parents will be notified of the level of school fees in advance prior to the commencement of each school year.
(2) Fees in any one year will be due and payable by Christmas: It is essential for the good management of the School for parents to pay promptly upon presentation of the School fee invoice.
(3) Parents with 2 or more children attending at school at any one time are entitled to a discount of:
20% for the second child 30% for the third child.
